KEVIN SEAL is a veteran Bay Area musician and music analyst for Pandora.
He plays keys for CitizenFive, a psychedelic soul band, and just celebrated his fourteenth anniversary with Pandora—he was around back when it was the Music Genome Project.
Kevin and I talk about the joys of happy accidents, when musicians live and play by “whoever’s in the audience that night;” weigh the pros and cons of writing at the peak of one’s vocal range; geek out about slash chords; and marvel at how easily New Orleans funk exports to the Bay Area, and vice versa.
Special thanks to CitizenFive for letting us use “Telegraph Blues” in this episode.
