It’s easy enough to figure out how somebody can play a trumpet: you blow through a tube, that tube produces sound. But when you watch an accordion player, it’s not so easy!
I set out to learn all I could about this infernal instrument, used in a range of musical styles, from tango to polka to indie rock.
Listen as I sit in on Polkafest!, hosted by Keith Sawyer and the Triangle Accordion Party.
Special thanks to all my new friends who made me feel so welcome that night, and even let me test-run a refurished accordion. I’d never held such power in my hands!
